Where to Begin

Planning a funeral can be overwhelming, but you are not alone in this. We’re here to support you throughout this journey and make this process one of love, healing, and life celebration. Below is some information to help you get started, but you can contact us at any time if you need help.

When a death occurs

Feel free to call (847) 302-7176 at any time and we will tell you what to do next.

Death occurs at home

If you are working with hospice, call them first. After they come to the residence and complete their procedure, they will call us to take your loved one into our care. Be sure to tell hospice to call us once you are ready, to ensure you adequate time to say goodbye to your loved one. In any non-hospice situation at the home, call 911. They will make the proper notifications and call us when the deceased is ready to be taken into our care.

Death occurs at a medical facility

Please let the medical facility know that you are using Demeros Funeral and Cremation Services. Once they have completed their procedure, the facility will notify us. Hospitals don’t always contact the funeral home right away, so please give us a call to ensure we can come as soon as the hospital is ready for us to receive your loved one.

When we meet

We will sit down together and discuss how you would like to celebrate your loved one’s life. Whether it be a traditional funeral, burial, cremation, or anything in between; we will explain all our service options with you and serve you with the utmost care and professionalism. At this time, we will:

  • Decide burial or cremation
  • Prepare and file the official death certificate
  • Draft an obituary
  • Schedule the services and events (including the location, date, and time)
  • Select a casket, urn, or other products you may need
